Elementary Bike Train

Starts April 15, 2026 and continues on Wednesdays through June 3, 2026

Leelanau Montessori Bike Trains allow children and families to bike to school together in community and support the elementary child's need for growing independence. Though our current location poses some challenges to making biking to school safe and accessible for young children, we hope to help normalize biking as a mode of transportation for them and highlight the need for safe bike routes in the immediate area.

Morning rides to school will take place on Wednesdays starting on April 15th. Locations are Lake Leelanau, at Grove Park (7:30 am start), and 9 Bean Rows (7:20 am start). Please fill out this form if you and/or your child plan to participate in the ride on Wednesday morning by 5 pm on the Monday prior to the Wednesday ride. There is a 5-student minimum and a 2:5 adult-to-child ratio needed to ride. Helmets are required for both children and adults.

Spring Elementary Exhibition

March 26, 2026 - Thursday, 3:15 - 4 PM

Come see the Cosmic Curriculum in action! We invite kindergarten, elementary, and other Montessori family members to get a glimpse of the work of the elementary Montessori child.

The exhibit showcases attributes unique to Montessori, such as:

Variety in both topics and subject areas
Integration of the curriculum - see math, language, history, art, music, movement, and science all integrate into one project
Collaboration amongst peers, which makes this 'big work' possible

Children will be presenting their work in both the upper and lower elementary classrooms.

Coffee and Conversation: Collaborating to Cultivate Potential

Laura has a Bachelor's of Arts from University of MIchigan, Primary AMI training from Montessori Northwest, a Masters from Loyola University and 15 years experience in Montessori teaching.

We know that it takes a village! Gather with Laura and other parents to discuss your child's growth and gain insight and support into human development and building bridges from Montessori to home.

Each year, we host three Family Enrichment Events—special opportunities to not only support our school, but also to gain meaningful insight into Montessori education and the rhythm of your child’s day.

Next Thursday, join us to meet the staff, be inspired, and learn why the Montessori education you’ve chosen is one of the greatest gifts you can give your child—a strong foundation for life.

Then, you'll have the opportunity to get the details on the school year ahead as you meet with your child's classroom team.

The daily routine at school and how you can support your child's classroom
How to support your child at home with their development
Get details on upcoming events (Camp LOC, Student Fundraising for the 5K and Fun Run, etc)
